Orgrow Skunk 47 Review

I tend to like the landrace and early strains, and skunk holds a special place for me. It was the first 'strain' I had ever heard of, before that everything was just ditch weed. I was probably 16 when my buddy said "Hey man, you gotta try this, its called Skunk. I think because it smells like one!"  Back in the late 80's and early 90's, early Skunk wouldn't have been anything compared to today's potent strains, but it was awesome enough that it hooked me for life.

Skunk 47 is an indica dominant cross between the original Skunk #1 and AK-47. I don't see Skunk strains in the stores too often, so I couldn't pass this up when I ran across it at Have A Heart, I couldn't pass it up.  The grower is called Orgrow, they are out of central Washington  and were previously unknown to me.

Orgrow has grown an extremely nice flower with tastes and effects that are true to the skunk legacy. The smell is earthy and supersweet and the flowers have the classic red and orange hairs woven throughout. The buds came out of the packaging sticky to the touch and full of trichomes. All in all, it's aesthetics are top shelf.

At 18% THC, I wasn't expecting it to blow me out of the water, but I was wrong. Half way through the first bowl, we sort of forgot that we were even smoking a bowl. We were too busy yapping anyway! I have found it to be a very euphoric but mellow high. Like a good indica, no paranoia or anxiety.

If you see this, go ahead and pick it up.
